CCARS Weekly Net


The CCARS weekly net meets on the CCARS repeaters each Tuesday at 9:00pm (local).   The frequency for the CCARS repeaters are 146.745- or 443.675+ (PL 100).

The Net Manager for the 2007 calendar year is Rodney Curtis, N4RLC.   The Cherokee Capital ARS encourages its members to be the net control station (NCS) on a rotating basis as a training exercise for net procedures in the event of an emergency in our area.   If you would like to operate as Net Control for a net, please e-mail Rodney at n4rlc@yahoo.com.

Is the repeater in use?

This is call sign, calling CQ, CQ, CQ.  Calling all amateurs to the Cherokee Capital Amateur Radio net. This is a directed net, please direct all calls through net control.  This net is supported by and is a function of the Cherokee Capital Amateur Radio Society.  This net is open to all amateur radio operators authorized to operated on the input frequency of this repeater.

This is call sign Net Control Station for tonight.  My name is ____________ and my location is in ____________.

Is there any emergency or priority traffic?

Is there any formal written traffic for the net?
(List all traffic and ask if any station can handle it.  If there is a lot of traffic, ask the stations to go to a simplex frequency or another repeater.)

As always, if there is any emergency, please say "break" along with your call sign, and the net will turn the repeater over to you.

Are there any announcements for the net?
(Add stations to the check in list and query each one for the announcement.  Take any information and relay it at the end of the net.  Also ask if "anyone need a fill or have a query on the announcement?", if there was an announcement.)

(Add stations to check in list and query each one for the item that they need or have for sale. Take any information such as phone number, etc.  Also ask the net if "anyone need a fill or have a query on the item?")

We will now move to the check in portion of the net.  If you have any other traffic or swap-shop items, please list them when checking in.  When checking in, please list your call sign phonetically and give your name and location.  Also, if you are in and out only or can stay for a comment.

(Copy down any station relayed to you.  Remember, all mobile stations first.)

Any regular check-in's for the CCARS net?
(Copy any station down on your list.  After a few stations check in, read the list back to see if there is any corrections then take some more.  Again, if any mobile stations, add them to the top of the list so they can go first.)
